City of Mesa upgrades VoteLynx SE system to XLG with Energize to manage public meeting
voting request-to-speak, speaker timing and control of all audio, video and lighting
functions in the two meeting chambers.
The City of Mesa upgraded their VoteLynx SE system to XLG with Energize to manage
public meeting voting request-to-speak, speaker timing and control of all audio,
video and lighting functions in the two meeting chambers. According to Glen Stephens,
Mesa Channel 11 Station Manager, The VoteLynx XLG system allows us to configure each
chamber accordingly, yet operate as one efficient system, controlled by our staff.
In addition to the VoteLynx software application, the system uses three Energize
touchpanels to control the meeting room functions. The mayor uses one of the touchpanels
to manage request-to speak, timers and video source selection. Two Intent Digital
WCP-100 Control Panels are located at the podium in each chamber to give presenters
simple control over video displays and source selection.
Mesa uses two other Energize touchpanels and two JTP-100 Joystick Control Panels
in the video control room to control audio visual equipment and drive the eight cameras
on Telemetrics pan tilts. This configuration allows one or two camera operator stations
and the ability to control the entire AV system from either touchpanel. The production
staff built their own graphical room layouts for camera control with preset shot
controls and buttons to route camera video from any of the eight cameras to preview
windows on the Miranda multiviewer screen. Clyde Tappy, Mesa’s chief engineer says,
“It’s great to have such easy control of the Energize screen layouts and control
functionality. We have even made changes to the system right before a meeting to
handle special events.”
